The World Boxing Association (WBA) has ordered champion Jaron Ennis to defend his belt against Shakhram Giyasov.
Shakhram Giyasov: “Whoever the champion is, I will fight him and bring the belt to Uzbekistan.”
According to WBA rules, after Ennis's victory over Standionis on April 12, he must defend his belt against Shakhram Giyasov within 120 days.
Shahram Giyasov, Uzbekistan's mandatory challenger for the WBA belt in the welterweight division, expressed his opinion on the fight with the super champion.
"Ennis is a very strong boxer. He's very smart and fast. But we're not weak either. I haven't spent 20 years boxing for nothing. It doesn't matter to me who my opponent is. If someone has the championship belt, I'll fight them and, Allah willing, I'll bring him to Uzbekistan," Giyasov said.
